Offline Billing When the Internet Drops, Then Sync When It Returns

What Nepali shops should do when the internet drops: a backup connection, a short manual-slip routine, and how to enter those bills once Sajilo IMS is reachable again.

When the shop line drops, the queue does not. Staff need a known backup, not a debate about whether the cloud “should” work offline.

Sajilo IMS runs in the browser. If the browser cannot save, you are not in a hidden offline mode. Switch to another data connection. If that fails too, use a short manual routine and enter every slip when the system is back.

Backup connection first

A phone hotspot from a different operator than your main line is the plan to test before Dashain, not during it. Confirm that a bill saves and that you can still share or print it the way you usually do.

Mobile and tablet are extra screens on that same connection. They are not a second database.

The manual slip, if every network fails

Use a numbered slip: items, quantities, amounts, payment type, and customer name if it is credit. Sell only what you must. Do not open a parallel notebook and run the rest of the week on it.

Keep the slips in order. A missing number is a missing bill, and a missing bill is a stock and cash gap.

When the connection returns

Enter each slip as a normal sale in Sajilo IMS before you call the day closed. Use the same items, prices, and payment types. Then count the drawer against the system, not against your memory of the rush.

Do not enter the same slip twice, and do not also leave it in Excel. One entry, then the paper is only a backup. Stock is wrong until this is done, so do it before the next receiving or the next shift.

Frequently asked questions

Will the bills sync by themselves later?
No. Nothing was saved while you were offline. Someone has to enter the slips. That is the sync.
Should we keep selling the full catalog on paper?
Prefer a short list you can re-enter accurately. A long paper sale with guessed names will not match products when you type it in.
