How Mobile POS Apps Keep Your Business Billing Running During Internet Outages

How mobile access and a simple outage routine help Nepali shops keep billing under control when the internet drops. Cloud POS still needs a connection—here is a realistic backup.

Sajilo IMS POS and inventory at a retail checkout in Nepal

Sajilo IMS runs in the browser on phones and tablets, so owners and staff are not tied to one desktop. That helps when the counter PC fails, or when you need stock while you are away from the shop.

It is still an online system. A mobile app does not, by itself, keep billing going through a total internet cut. The practical answer is a second network, plus a short manual routine if every network fails.

What mobile is genuinely good for

Use a phone or tablet as another billing screen when the main PC is busy or broken, as long as it has data. Use it to check stock, approve a transfer, or look at the day’s sales from outside the shop.

Staff who already understand the desktop screen can use the same login on mobile. You should not maintain a different product list on the phone.

When the shop line drops

Switch to a phone hotspot from a different operator than your primary connection. Test this before a festival week, including printing or sharing the bill the way you normally do.

If the hotspot also fails, write a numbered manual slip with items and amounts, keep selling only what you must, and enter those bills into Sajilo IMS as soon as you are online. Then count the drawer against both the slips and the system.

What not to rely on

Do not keep a second “offline” notebook as the real system for days. Stock and customer balances will not survive the re-entry.

Do not assume Wi-Fi names mean you are online. If the browser cannot save a bill, you are in the manual-slip routine, not in a hidden offline mode.

Frequently asked questions

Does Sajilo IMS bill with zero internet?
No. Plan a backup data connection. Use manual slips only for the gap, and enter them when the connection returns.
Is a tablet better than a phone at the counter?
A tablet is easier to read in a queue, and a phone is the hotspot you already carry. Many shops use a counter device plus a phone for data backup.
