Clock-In, Shifts, and Sales by Employee for Busy Retail Counters
How Nepali retailers can see which login sold what, run a simple shift handover, and avoid treating a shared password as an attendance system.

Busy counters run in shifts: morning, afternoon, and the festival evening when everyone is on the floor. The question at handover is simple. What did this person sell, and does the drawer match their cash bills?
Sajilo IMS records the user on the sale when that user is signed in. That is the sales-by-employee report that matters. It is not an attendance machine, and it will not know who was standing at the counter if they used someone else’s password.
Handover is a count, not a greeting
The outgoing cashier signs in as themselves, finishes or parks open bills, and counts cash against their cash sales. The incoming cashier signs in as themselves before the next customer.
A note for a short drawer stays with that shift. Mixing two shifts in one login makes the short amount everyone’s problem.
What you can fairly compare
Compare sales value and number of bills. Do not rank staff on margin if they do not set prices. Do not rank a morning cashier against an evening cashier without remembering which shift is busy.
Returns processed by a supervisor should stay on the supervisor’s user or be clearly tied to the original bill, so a cashier is not blamed for a return they did not make.
Keep attendance as its own list
Who was scheduled, who arrived, and who left early can live on a simple sheet or in whatever HR record you already trust. Do not fake attendance by looking at the first and last bill. A cashier can be present and sell little.
When someone leaves the job, disable the login the same day. Old logins are how later sales get attributed to people who were not there.
Frequently asked questions
- Can two cashiers work on one computer?
- Only if they switch user at handover. Side by side on one shared session, you cannot tell the sales apart.
- Should commission use these totals?
- Only if the login is reliable and the rule is written. Commission on a shared password pays the wrong person and trains staff to grab the owner’s login.
