How WhatsApp and SMS Payment Reminders Recover Udharo Faster

A simple reminder habit for Nepali shops: who to message, what to say, and how to use the customer balance so WhatsApp chases the right udharo.

Most udharo is not refused. It is forgotten, or the customer is waiting to see if you ask. A short WhatsApp or SMS, sent on a fixed day, collects more than a yearly argument.

The message is only as good as the balance behind it. Pull the customer’s open sales from your records, then write. Do not type a figure from memory.

Who to message, and when

Message customers over a threshold you choose, on a weekday you will actually do. Chasing every Rs. 50 balance every day trains you to ignore the list.

Use the shop’s number, not a cashier’s personal WhatsApp. When that person leaves, the thread and the promises leave with them.

What the message should contain

Customer name, amount, and the bill dates or numbers. Offer one clear next step: pay at the shop, or pay to the shop’s account. Leave out threats and leave out other customers’ names.

If they reply with a payment screenshot, match it to the bank or wallet before you reduce the balance. A screenshot is not a receipt until the money arrives.

Write down that you asked

Note the date you reminded them, on the customer or in a simple list. The next reminder can refer to the last one. Staff should not each send a different amount.

Sajilo IMS notifications help you notice operational issues such as low stock. Collection reminders are a habit you run from the customer balance. Keep the two jobs separate so a stock alert is not your only follow-up system.

Frequently asked questions

Is a phone call better than WhatsApp?
A call is better for large or old balances. WhatsApp is better for a clear written amount the customer can forward to the person who pays.
Should we stop selling to someone who ignores reminders?
Set a limit in advance. Further credit after several ignored reminders is a decision, not an accident. Cash sales can continue.
